Mark Millam led the GSIP team at its first focus group in Pan-America on July 20-21 at the JW Marriott in Mexico City. Like the other focus groups, this one welcomed a number of stakeholders from a wide range of industry segments. We had participating from the airlines, regulators, non-scheduled operators, ANSPs and a welcomed visit from ICAO. We learned a great deal about working within certain cultures in Pan America at this meeting. Along with the important information gathered in the survey and the discussion, we heard that internally, the companies had good protection of data, but there is still unfamiliarity with the need for legislative action.
